How Ten17 Studios came to be

Ten17 was born out of a passion for helping businesses across outstate Minnesota market differently.

What started as Ten17 Media quickly evolved into Ten17 Studios as our clients — and their needs — grew. We saw firsthand how overwhelming digital marketing had become for small businesses, and how often it felt forced, salesy, or disconnected from who they truly were.

We believed there was a better way.

A way that focused on storytelling instead of selling. On connection instead of clicks. On real people, real businesses, and real life — all shared through the tiny screens we carry in our pockets every day.

Meet the Team

  • Tyler Gehrking

    FOUNDER

    I graduated from Willmar High School in 2002 and later returned to teach there, also serving as the facilitator of the Kandiyohi CEO program. Working alongside local entrepreneurs inspired me to found TEN17 Media in 2018 to help businesses share their stories more effectively. In 2024, the company joined Subarctic Media and later merged with Lakeland Media, evolving into what is now Ten17 Studios.

    Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my wife Angie and our three kids, golfing when I can, and cheering on Minnesota sports teams.

  • Coral Bjork

    CREATIVE PROJECT MANAGER

    I grew up in New London, Minnesota, and earned my degree in Mass Media with a minor in Graphic Design from Minnesota State University, Mankato. I’ve always been passionate about the visual side of storytelling and love helping brands find a style that feels authentic and intentional. At Ten17 Studios, I enjoy bringing ideas to life in a way that feels both creative and strategic.

    Outside of work, you can find me spending time with friends, supporting local boutiques and restaurants, or enjoying weekends at the cabin.

  • Micah Lindgren

    VIDEOGRAPHER / EDITOR

    I grew up in Willmar, Minnesota, and have always had a passion for telling stories through film. My journey started close to home with an internship at TEN17 Studios, and I later expanded my experience through a Filmmaker Internship at River Valley Church in Minneapolis. When I’m not behind a camera, you’ll probably find me seeking out adventure — whether that’s hiking new trails, traveling to new places, skydiving, or chasing the thrill of tall and fast roller coasters. I also love the artistry of film photography and shooting Super-8 film reels, capturing moments in a timeless way.

  • Tori Hagen

    CREATIVE PROJECT COORDINATOR

    I’m Tori Hagen, a Willmar native and 2012 WHS graduate. I’m new to marketing, but I’ve always been drawn to creativity—whether through fashion, baking, or building things that make people feel something. I previously owned a baking company, Sweet Magnolia, which was one of my favorite creative outlets. I also had the honor of serving as a Willmar Fests Ambassador in 2013–2014, an experience that kept me connected to the community I love. When I’m not creating, I’m spending time with my daughter, Magnolia, and our husky, Franny.
